Lafontaine was established in 1989, by sisters Barb & Cathy, who wanted to bring affordable fashion and home decor not found in chain stores, to the people of Whitby.

First opening on Brock St. N., Lafontaine relocated to Dundas St. W. in 1992 and, after 15 years, moved across the street to a larger space, at the corner of Brock & Dundas Streets, in Downtown Whitby.

Since then, Lafontaine has grown & evolved into a modern atmosphere that makes the shopping experience a pleasure by providing personalized service and fashion advice.

The unique combination of products, some exclusive to the Durham Region, give great choice and one stop shopping in clothing, jewellery, shoes, handbags, home decor and more.
